Beauty News Vol. 1 -- Kardashian's New Makeup Line, Urban Decay No Longer Cruelty Free & More

Welcome to the first edition of Beauty News. In the section, I'll be posting new and relevant beauty news as it is announced. So let's get to it, shall we?

1. The Kardashians Launch a Makeup Line: It's no secret that Kourtney, Khloe, & Kim Kardashian are known for their good looks. Kim, in particular, is a makeup maven having become wildly popular for always wearing a gorgeous smokey eye and nude lip. It was really only a matter of time for the ladies to launch a beauty line. The beauty line will be titled Khroma Beauty and will include everything from eyes, lips to complexion. When I think of the Kardashians and makeup, the first brands that come to mind are NARS (Kim is known for wearing lip gloss in Turkish Delight) and MAC Cosmetics. The ladies are fans of those brands, so I'm hoping they will take inspiration from them. The line is set to launch in December and will even include a product called a Kardazzle compact. Can you say bling bling?

2. Christian Louboutin to Launch Beauty Line: Red Sole lovers beware! Cosmetics are coming. Can we pray for all sleek black packaging with red bottoms? Christian Louboutin is launching "Christian Louboutin Beaute" and will join fellow designer Tom Ford who launched his beauty line in 2011.  The cosmetic line will sell worldwide and is set to launch in 2013.

3. Urban Decay No Longer Cruelty Free: The controversy on the street is Urban Decay will begin to sell their products in China. The Chinese government reserves the right to conduct animal testing with cosmetic products before the products are approved for use by Chinese citizens. Urban Decay has been honest about their brand's stand against animal testing. On June 6th, 2012, Leaping Bunny took away their certification. The beauty community has responded in an uproar about their decision. Will you continue to purchase Urban Decay?

UPDATE: Urban Decay released a statement stating they will not be selling their products in China. Read more here.

Products of Interest: October 16, 2011

1. Nars Danmari All About Cheeks Palette ($65): I've been on the hunt for an awesome cheek palette, but it was either make my own or find a brand that has one that's worth my while. This palette from Nars looks AMAZING and comes with six shades: Hungry Heart, Super Orgasm, Desire, Casino, Orgasm & Sin. $65 also seems like a good deal considering their blushes/bronzers can run up to $27 to $33.

2. Tarte The Starlet Limited Edition Makeup Vanity ($52): I'm such a sucker for gorgeous packaging and this one definitely delivers. It's set up in a fancy mirror vanity box that contains 24 eye-shadows, 2 new amazonian clay blushes, bronzer, and shimmer powder. Hmph. I definitely see this in my future.

3. LORAC Bejeweled Day & Night Jewelry Box ($56): Lorac is one of my favorite brands, so it's easy for me to fall victim to any of their launches. All of their products are so easy to use and awesomely pigmented. Another victim of tempting packaging, this kit comes in a gorgeous dazzle box. It includes eye-shadows, blushes, a giant bronzer, glosses and eyeliners.

4. CK One Shock ($40-$50): I've never been a fan of the classic CK One even though it's the best selling unisex fragrance of all time. I'm into extremely sweet scents (EX: Flowerbomb, Hanae Mori etc.) but when I smelled CK One Shock the other day, I fell head over heels! It's note includes: Passion Flower, Pink Peony, Jeweled Poppy Flower, Liquid Chocolate Accord, Blackberry, Narcissi, Hypnotic Jasmine, Magnetic Ambers, Vanilla (yum!), Patchouli, & Second Skin Musk. The best part about CK One? It's one of the most affordable fragrances out there!

5. Tom Ford Beauty - Lip Color in Blush Nude ($48): The buzz of Tom Ford's new beauty line has got me wanting to spend some money! I've been eyeing the original lipsticks for months, but just can't seem to bring myself to drop almost $50 on a lipstick. I think I shall be caving shortly. This blush nude is calling my name. Have you seen the rest of the launches yet?!

6. Laura Mercier Rose Rendezvous Face Illuminator ($42): I just love the look of this product. The 3D feel of it. I wonder how long the effect lasts. The shimmer looks gorgeous as well.

What have you got your eyes on lately?

Tom Ford Beauty - Launching Sept 2011

This is probably the most excited I've ever been for a launch of a beauty line (my pocket, not so much...) I've tried out Tom Ford's lipsticks and they're amazing.

At $45 a pop, they better be. The luxurious packaging and smooth texture is enough to make any girl melt. Just saying to someone that you're wearing a Tom Ford lipstick is enough to make you feel gorgeous. I was hoping they'd create a line of beauty products that would knock me off my feet. Here's what we have to look forward to:

Tom Ford initially wanted to launch an entire beauty line to start, but was advised to not do so. Then once his lipsticks began selling out again and again, he decided it was time to create his line. According to WWD Eye Scoop, "Ford's new beauty collection is an ambitious one that incorporates color cosmetics and skin care, but his approach to beauty is surprisingly simple."

I'm intrigued by his ideas behind the beauty line. He even goes as far as to say, "There are a lot of products out there you don't even need." I'm excited to see what his plans are with this collection and I'm always on the hunt for the perfect foundation.

If your looking for the lipsticks, you can find them at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Are you excited for this launch?
