Earn Money To Test Beauty In NYC

Being a beauty blogger, I am always the first to test the latest launches in the beauty community. But before cosmetic products are launched, they must be tested and tried to see if there is a need or interest in them. That's where you come in. Focus Pointe Global, a national marketing research company, works with brands to get opinions on new cosmetics launches before they're even released. They are currently looking for women in the NYC area, ages 40-55, to participate in a paid focus group and product trial beginning in late January. There are no sales or promotions involved, and you’ll earn $100 (or more!) to share your opinions on a new cosmetic product before it hits the market! Take this quick online survey to see if you’re eligible: http://bit.ly/49471CY and check out www.focusgroup.com for more information about paid marketing research.

Have you ever participated in a paid focus group before?

Fashion Flashback: Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 Fashion Week

Alice + Olivia know how to throw a party and this past February was no exception. The Fall 2012 fashion show was full of vibrant colors, gorgeous patterns, delicious ice cream courtesy of Magnum and an all around good time. The collection was designed by Stacey Bendet and her vision for the collection was a sexy girl who's also innocent. Displayed were forty four looks and each one more amazing than the previous. The designs were super playful, but yet sexy. The makeup was done by Stila Cosmetics and each model wore a dark lip paired with heavy liner on the lids. The look was sultry and captivating. It was refreshing not to just see a runway show, but to watch with enough time to study and enjoy. I sipped rose champagne, had a few ice bars and took tons of photos. I always enjoyed Alice + Olivia designs before, but I fell in love at the show. There was a perfect blend of patterns, fur, sequins and florals. Then there was evening gowns. A black and white abstract print caught my eye immediately and I was hooked. I can't wait to see what's in store for next season.

Fashion Flashback: Nicholas K Fall 2012 Fashion Week

It seems like New York Fashion Week was just yesterday, but it's already two months later. I had the wonderful pleasure of attending a wide range of fantastic shows this past February. I was both amazed and overwhelmed at how amazing the whole experience is. It's a whole different world filled with brilliant designs, gorgeous hair, makeup and models that take your breath away. The first show of the season was Nicholas K and it definitely started off with a bang... literally. The song that opened the show was none other than Nancy Sinatras "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)".

The show was inspired by Taos artists in the 20s and 20s. The entire collection screamed western. Immediately when I heard the music and spotted the hats, I was reminded of old westerns films, but with a modern twist. The models wore very dark lips and sultry smokey eyes paired with pale skin. They skipped the bronzer for this one. The hats were my absolute favorite. We also saw parka jackets and fringe. Gorgeous. The colors definitely definitely reminded me of fall with grays, blacks, sand, army green and beige. The collection is very wearable and a great addition to anyone's wardrobe no matter what your style.

Getting Ready For New York Fashion Week Feb 9 - 16

It's the time again in Manhattan. The city is getting ready for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Clanks of high heels, coffee overflowing and flashes of camera lights are all around. As a blogger, it's one of the most exciting times and the craziest. Running around like a mad woman from show to show is my agenda. My schedule is pretty insane this next week. During this week, I'll mostly be posting updates on Twitter and Facebook so be sure to follow me there. I will be back after the 16th with posts galore and exciting runway/backstage photos for your viewing. I've also got a ton of newness in beauty products for you to see. Get excited!

Hope to see some of you at NYFW. For those that couldn't make it, don't fret. You can watch most shows online. RSVP for online shows here.

Be back soon.
XoXo
