Fashion Flashback: Nicholas K Fall 2012 Fashion Week

It seems like New York Fashion Week was just yesterday, but it's already two months later. I had the wonderful pleasure of attending a wide range of fantastic shows this past February. I was both amazed and overwhelmed at how amazing the whole experience is. It's a whole different world filled with brilliant designs, gorgeous hair, makeup and models that take your breath away. The first show of the season was Nicholas K and it definitely started off with a bang... literally. The song that opened the show was none other than Nancy Sinatras "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)".

The show was inspired by Taos artists in the 20s and 20s. The entire collection screamed western. Immediately when I heard the music and spotted the hats, I was reminded of old westerns films, but with a modern twist. The models wore very dark lips and sultry smokey eyes paired with pale skin. They skipped the bronzer for this one. The hats were my absolute favorite. We also saw parka jackets and fringe. Gorgeous. The colors definitely definitely reminded me of fall with grays, blacks, sand, army green and beige. The collection is very wearable and a great addition to anyone's wardrobe no matter what your style.

On a side note:  I also got to meet Rick Genest (known as rico the zombie) who is wildly popular for his body tattoos and his performance in the Lady Gaga "Born This Way" video. What a great show!
