Get Kate Upon's Bombshell Hair From The MTV Movie Awards

Kate Upon is everywhere lately. From supermodel to actress, you can't open a magazine without seeing her face. To promote her latest film, The Other Woman, she recently attended the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Her bombshell hairstyle and sultry makeup look stunned on the red carpet. Here's how to get her hair look by celebrity hairstylist, Peter Butler for Moroccanoil.

Overall Inspiration: "When envisioning the hair look that I wanted to create to compliment Kate’s Versace mini-dress, I was inspired by the works of Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin as well as the strong and powerful 80’s woman a la Cindy Crawford and Jerry Hall— I wanted big, polished hair.” - Peter Butler, Morroccanoil

Hair Prep/Style:
  • To create lots of volume, hold and lift, I began by applying Moroccanoil Root Boost to the roots of Kate’s damp hair and then blanketed her locks with Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse. Using the Moroccanoil Paddle Brush, I blow dried the hair in large sections.
  • Next, I divided the hair into 2” sections, misted with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, and wrapped each section around a 2” barrel curling iron to create a rough wave.
  • To create a tighter curl and additional bounce, I divide the hair at the top of the head into 3 sections and curled each with a 1” barrel iron from front-to-back (bang-to-crown).
  • Once the curls cooled, I brushed out all of the hair using the Moroccanoil Boar Bristle  Classic Brush and created a deep side part with a comb.
Finishing Touches:
  • Using a dime-sized amount of Moroccanoil Treatment Light, I massaged the products between my hands and then began applying it directly to the hair from the ends up to smooth the entire look. For added shine, I sprayed two pumps of Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine into the air and wafted it over Kate’s hair.
  • Last, I ran a wide-tooth comb through the waves to separate them into a natural look and in true 80’s fashion I blasted the style with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray.
What do you think of Kate's look?

Oscars 2014 Beauty Favorite: Nude Lips & Sultry Eyes

The Oscars will soon be a distant memory, but the leading ladies' beauty looks will live on. The red carpet was filled with stunning dresses, sparkly baubles, and incredibly gorgeous makeups. The trend on the carpet was clearly nude lips and smokey eyes seen on almost all the nominated females, including Jennifer Lawrence above at the after party. We've gathered the best looks of the night and made a mental note to recreate these looks ASAP.

Get Scarlett Johansson's Oribe Esquire Cover

We can’t all be Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive”, but we can surely look like her thanks to Oribe. The November issue of this men’s magazine showcased the beautiful Scarlett Johansson on the cover; the bombshell actress snagged the “Sexiest Woman Alive” title for a second time! Instead of going for the typical seductive look, Johansson “wanted something more natural”, said Oribe of the inspiration for the style. Oribe Hair Care took Johansson’s movie-star hair to the next level to create a look that was described as an “effortless style and texture that’s very current.”

Luckily for us, this all-naturalè look is an easy hairstyle to replicate, and Oribe has provided us with five easy steps:

  1. Apply Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse to damp hair and power dry so that the hair has movement.
  2. Then, add Thick Dry Finishing Spray and hit it with the blowdryer again for fullness.
  3. Using a 2-inch curling iron, enhance natural movement by curling various sections of the hair- some big, some small- to create good texture while avoiding a perfect wave.
  4. Next, work with hair around the face to create a sexy face-framing texture.
  5. Finish with Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray for flexible hold and to prevent frizz.

You can find all of the products on www.Oribe.com! Now, go and channel your inner Scarlett.

New York Fashion Week - Elle Fashion Next Show With Christina Ricci, Alexa Chung And More!

ELLE hosted its third annual Fashion Next runway show this Fashion Week. This show celebrated the work of 19 FIT fashion design students. These students were finalists for the 2012 Fashion Next Design Award. Peter Som, Christina Ricci, Alexa Chung were just some of the celebrities in attendance. The finalists were asked to design two to three pieces drawing from the theme this year, NYC. Two students were awarded and will have their work featured in the October and December issues of ELLE.  I was thoroughly impressed with the designs of the students. Each designer had a unique flare that translated on the runway. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this talented group. Many of the pieces features were wearable and chic. I look forward to next season's show.
