Vincent Longo Cosmetics: Meeting Vincent Longo & Henri Bendel Trunk Show Event Photos
I had the amazing opportunity to meet an incredible artist and a man who changed the beauty industry today. The fantastic Vincent Longo. We met at the Plaza hotel in Manhattan, drank cappuccinos and laughed about beauty, life and New York. He was amazingly humble, charming and intriguing. I interviewed him with a few questions that I was dying to know and I will be posting that interview shortly. We'll need a separate post for that :)
We met right before his exciting Henri Bendel trunk show. It's rare to see a master at work, but I was privileged enough to be invited to watch. The event featured his new and exciting products that he recently launched called the "New Essentials Collection." 8 appointments were available and as you can imagine, they were all booked! As soon as we arrived, his first appointment was waiting. A gorgeous woman who herself has been a lover of Vincent Longo products for quite a while. Onto the photos:
Vincent Longo New Essentials Collection for Fall/Winter 2011 Review & Swatches
I really adore when a brand launches a collection and I love every single product. That's usually the case when it comes to Vincent Longo products. I'm constantly blown away by the pigments, long-wear and the gorgeous colors of his line. His new essentials collection for Fall/Winter 2011 is no different. You can read about that launch here. Let's take a closer look...
Seen above are the velour pressed powders ($28). I tried Light #2 and Warm #4. These colors are definitely shades for me. Light #2 is a bit too light for me now, but I'm sure once we get more into winter, it'll be perfect. Warm #4 is almost perfect, but just a tad too yellow for my complexion. I used it a setting powder and for touch-ups throughout the day. I find that the shades are quite light, so I'm hoping for more shades in the future. I believe they are not meant as a foundation to be wore alone, but as a setting powder. They wore really well on me. It's really meant to add radiance and create a smooth finish, which it did.
Vincent Longo New Essentials Collection for Fall/Winter 2011
Ahhh. I get so excited when I find out Vincent Longo is coming out with new products. I'm so in love with this brand. Their products are just so amazing and my collection is growing as we speak! If you haven't tried their products, you have no idea what you're missing.
Vincent Longo is relaunching his brand with new essentials. Vincent Longo is often thought of when you speak to camera-ready supermodel glamour and signature celebrity looks. The brand is known for unlocking beauty in everyday woman everywhere. The new line of Vincent Longo essentials is an array of 6 blushes, 5 five pressed powders & 4 face and body bronzers. All products will be in fresh, redesigned packaging (which--might I add--I'm SO excited to see!)
The new line also features a evolution in pressing technology--each item combines a drop of complementary tint and texture pressed all the way through the product base. The combination makes all products amazingly versatile for any shade of skin, but also for any occasion.
Here's what they have in store for their new Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

Vincent Longo Products Review & Swatches
(Disclosure: All products seen above were sent for consideration by Vincent Longo)
I've become a bit obsessed with all of Vincent Longo's line. Every product I try is absolutely stunning, super pigmented and long-lasting. Woot Hoot. Onto the products.
First thing I tried was the Water Canvas Base/Primer. It's a non-greasy gel formula that helps maintain skin's moisture, form a barrier that won't crease of flake foundation, allow skin to breathe, fills-in enlarged pores, fine lines, & creases, smooths over acne spots/rosacea, extends the wear of all makeup and it suitable for everyone. I actually really liked the consistency of this product and felt that it delivered what it promised.
Retail: $44
The foundation sent was probably the BEST product I tried. They sent their best selling foundation: Water Canvas Creme-To-Powder Foundation Oil Free in Natural Tan. The coverage is natural and flawless. I've always wanted to try a creme to powder foundation but hadn't found any worth trying. The best thing about this foundation? It contains Vitamin E that helps protect the skin from free radical damage, it has 100% natural botanical seaweed polymer and silica that help maintain skin's moisture balance and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. Sign me up!
Retail: $57
I'm always on the prowl for some new amazing blush. I was super excited when I saw the set up of this next beauty. This is Day Play Duo Compact Blush in Innocence. I love that it comes with two shades: a bright pink for day & a fun orange/peach for night. The color pay-off is beautiful and a definite must try. Don't worry if these colors are two bright for you because it comes in six other duos that vary from bold to natural!
Retail: $36
You already know how much I love bronzer, right? Vincent Longo's bronzer is the same fun packaging as the blush, which had me excited to try it out. I was sent Sole Mio Duo Bronzer in Cooper Kiss. The sides read: Sun & Fun. Sun was a tad lighter than fun for this duo. Both shades had a hint of shimmer, so I was able to skip the highlighter.
Retail: $38.50
Once my primer, foundation, blush & bronzer were on -- I decided to try the new lip products they sent me. I received Velvet Rich Lipstick in Pure Demure & Perfect Shine Lipgloss in Dolce. Talk about the PERFECT nude lips. I totally fell in love when I opened the package--I actually squealed in delight when I saw the color (my girlfriend laughed and said I was crazy haha) because it's exactly the kind of color I flock to in stores. It reminded me a lot of MAC Myth once on my lips but when swatched, it was very different. The gloss is easily duped BUT definitely longer wearing than most. I also was glad that the sparkle in the gloss wasn't too much but just the right amount.
Lipstick + Lipgloss:
Retail: $23 (Lipstick) & $22 (Lipgloss)
Lastly, I received a Duo Eye Pencil in Rich Topaz/Aura Chic. The colors here are perfect for natural or smokey eyes. Aura Chic was more of a golden shimmer and Rich Topaz was a deeper brown shimmer.
Retail: $26

Vincent Longo Event at Space NK July 21st & July 22nd
Vincent Longo recently had an event at a nearby Space NK on July 21st & July 22nd. I stopped by to check out some of their new products and mingle with a few of their artists. Everyone was super sweet and talented. We talked about Vincent Longo's amazing product line and new collection. I recently reviewed their new Galaxy collection here: part 1/part 2. I left with some new knowledge of the brand and some new products to add to my wishlist. I'm definitely interested in their foundation. We tried some on and then I walked out in the crazy summer heat we've been having and it wore really well. I definitely recommend everyone to check out the next Vincent Longo event near you. Also, check out the brand if you haven't yet. All of their products are really amazing and long wearing. I love the way they look in photos especially. I will featuring a LOTD soon with this brand. You can purchase the full line at Vincent Longo and Space NK.

Vincent Longo Galaxy Dream Collection for Spring/Summer 2011 Review & Swatches Part 2
I've always loved lipgloss, but lately I've been having a secret love affair with lipstick (Shhhh don't tell!) I love the pigment/texture you can get from a lipstick. Normally lip-glosses fade very fast on me, which is why I tend to use lipsticks. I do love the shine of a lipgloss which is wear I always wear both. What if you didn't need both but could get the same affect from one? This is what I discovered from Vincent Longo's Galaxy Dream Collection. I expected the lip-glosses to be just like any other. I was mistaken. These Perfect Shine V Gloss are extremely long wearing and give great color. I didn't even need to use a lipstick underneath for a deeper color payoff. This collection contains four glosses. Retail is $22 for each at Vincent Longo.
The Perfect Shine V Gloss comes in four shades: Alpha 7, Carina, Ella & Sexty
(Disclosure: Products seen below were sent for consideration from PR)
These colors scream summer, but could definitely been used in the Fall especially Alpha 7 and Ella!
Alpha 7 is a stunning fuchsia
Sexty is a natural light brown infused with antique rose
Carina is the perfect peach
Ella is a natural mauve brown with cool undertones
I love that these glosses are very pigmented and need no lipstick/primer underneath. It's makes for a quick, easy application and less re-applying.
