Swap With The Lovely Adrienne From Popular U.K. Beauty Blog "The Sunday Girl'"
Having this blog has given me so many amazing opportunities. It began as just a way to express my passion for beauty and fashion and then emerged into something far greater than I expected. The best part about the blog? Being able to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. One of the first friends I made was the lovely Adrienne over at The Sunday Girl. She's a blogging machine and definitely someone I love chatting with. We decided to swap so that she could get some USA goodies and I could get some UK ones. Here what's I received in my part of the swap. You can see what she got here.

Stila Lip Glaze Haul
I'm always on the hunt for the best lipgloss out there and I've always heard great things about Stila's lip glazes. I decided to try a few out for myself. Lately, I've been more into lipstick but I normally always top my lips off with a gloss. Stila's lip glazes are pretty thick, but come in beautiful shades. I'm not a huge fan of the sticky texture, but I loved the colors none-the-less.
In my opinion, I wouldn't pay full price for these glosses. The texture is not the best and the colors aren't great on their own. They work well on top of a lipstick. I would only ever buy the sets they normally sell around holiday and new launches like this one below that retails for only $12.

Josie Maran Haul: Argan Oil, Eyeshadow & Lip Gloss
(Disclosure: Products seen above were sent for consideration from PR)
I've been tempted to try a few of Josie Maran's cosmetics products for a while now. I played with a few of her products but have yet to actually purchase anything. Josie Maran's PR dept was kind enough to send me some samples to try out. The best product in the entire line was the Argan Oil. I received these products a while ago, but wanted some time to test out the Argan Oil on my face.
Josie Maran is a supermodel who turned her love of cosmetics into a successful beauty brand. Throughout her career in the industry, she learned all about the power of makeup and what ingredients work well in products. She realized that their was something missing in the world of makeup. She wanted a brand that was eco-friendly and natural, but also with luxury. She decided to create her own makeup brand - Josie Maran Cosmetics. Her motto: "I'm going to change the world one lipstick at a time."
I've met her in person and she's an absolute sweetheart and very passionate about her brand. She says that she herself uses all the products everyday and she wouldn't ever promote something she didn't love. Her skin is beautiful also!
The first product I tried from the package was Argan Oil, which is the best selling product from Josie Maran. You can use it on your face, body and hair. I've been using it on my face for about two weeks and I can definitely already see a difference in my skin. My skin is more hydrated, more radiant and I have less breakouts. Argan Oil is grown organically in Morocco and became famous from the brand, Moroccan Oil.
Retail: $48 at Sephora/Josie Maran
Next, I tried out the eye shadows which was very easy to work with. They were long-wearing and easy to blend. They can be used wet or dry. I was sent Pinkalicious & Maple. Pinkalicious is a shimmery baby pink and Maple is a matte soft brown.
Retail: $20 at Josie Maran
Lastly, I received a lipgloss. Optimism is a sheer, shimmering golden beige. I loved the color but wasn't too excited when I read that it was a plumping gloss. I already have naturally full lips and severely dislike plumping glosses because they tend to burn. I have to say this one didn't bother/burn at all. The color was very natural -- almost your lips but better kind of color. It's also infused with Argan Oil (as most of the products are) so my lips felt very soft after a few wears. I definitely recommend this gloss for anyone looking for a plumping gloss. Another plus: It's flavored with "dulce de leche." Yummy.
Retail: $20 at Josie Maran
All and all, I recommend Josie Maran cosmetics to anyone looking for a more natural brand or anyone who just loves great products at a great price. They also just launched their new Fall 2011 line, which looks beautiful!
