The Makeup Show Holiday Pop-Up Shop on December 2nd, 2011 Photos

The Makeup Show Holiday Pop-Up Show took place this past December at the Metropolitan Pavilion. I attended the evening on Friday the 2nd. It was a smaller version of the regular makeup show with brands like Kevyn Aucoin, Stila Cosmetics, Crown Brush, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Dermalogica, OCC, and many others. Brands were priced from 20% to 40% off. I hauled a bunch of goodies. Onto the photos.

Crown Brush is known for their affordable brushes that are also great quality.

I was tempted to purchase some goodies from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics because they've got amazing shadow palettes. I opted to wait since their prices are a bit steep.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is one of my new favorite brands. I'm obsessed with their lip tars and glitter pigments. I attended their store opening in NYC a few months back. See that post here.

Stila was offering their items at great prices especially the Holiday palettes.

Hauled a few Kevyn Aucoin goodies for my Z palette. It was perfect because the blushes came in the pan ready to be placed in the palette.

It was very crowded -- a bit hard to get around without bumping into someone. I found out a week or so after that Saturday wasn't as crowded. All and all, it was a fantastic event and I can't wait till the large show in May. Tickets are already available here. The show is set for May 13-14. Hope to see you guys there!

I'm crazy about C142 brush for contouring my face. Crown Brushes are so affordable and just great to have in your collection.

I picked up two Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadows. They're my first products I've ever purchased from the brand.

Seen above: Whisper, Tusk

Make Up For Ever had a small area of the show with just a handful of products. I originally came with a long list of products I intended to pick up, but I'll just have to get those in May. I was eyeing this palette about a year ago in Sephora and decided I didn't need it. When I saw it on sale, I knew it had to be mine.

That black shimmery color on the top left is GORGEOUS.

Crown Brush also has great affordable palettes. I picked up two-- a blush palette with ten shades & a natural eyeshadows palette. I think they were either $15.99 or $19.99 each.

This is definitely my new favorite palette. The brushes are so pigmented and gorgeous shades. This would be a great addition to anyone's collection or to have in your freelance kit.

This natural eye palette is just great for everyday. This particular one is a very popular buy for freelancers who often do makeup for weddings.

My second favorite buy was my Z Palette. Z Palettes are perfect for depotting products. I placed a few depotted items I had already in it. The two small shadows on the left are Laura Mercier. The top shadow in the middle is Tarina Tarantino. The bottom blush in the middle is Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface. The two on right are the two products I hauled from Kevyn Aucoin.

I also hauled OCC makeup lip tar in Tone, an OCC glitter shadow and my favorite Stila intense black eyeliner that I'll be doing in a separate post.

Have you ever attended The Makeup Show?
