Smashbox Holiday Launches 2011 Review & Swatches

Although the Holidays are long gone, I'm still getting through a few of my holiday collections. I've been using my Smashbox goodies quite a bit and thought I share my favorites with you. Smashbox had a quite a bit of launches for the Holidays -- a palette, glosses, kits + more. Here's what I tried.

Smashbox Behind The Lens Holiday Prime & Set Kit ($39) -- Seriously an awesome kit. I've tried Smashbox primers before and their amazingg. This was my first experience with the setting powder, which worked wonders as well. Included in the kit is the original photo finish oil-free primer. The primer can be worn alone or under foundation. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores. The texture is silky and helps mattify the skin. You can see a huge difference once you put this on. With the powder, I liked that it had SPF 15. It helps to absorb oil and mattify the skin as well. These two together? Power couple indeed. Kind of like Jay Z & Beyonce.

Smashbox Holiday Flash Eyelights Eye Shadow Quad ($39) -- The gold shadow in this palette is drool worthy. The perfect colors for the Holidays. The four shades work well to compliment each other and create various looks. It's compact enough to carry around and the pigments are gorgeous. Colors in palette are Pearl, Gold, Silver, and Pewter. Bring on the shimmer!

The pearl color on the left kind of reminds me of Nars Highlighter in Albatross, which is my absolute favorite.

Holiday Flash Double Ended Lip Gloss ($22-- This was my least favorite product of the collection. I'm not big on glitter glosses because they always lean towards the sticky side. However, the color is a perfect sheer red with multi-color glitter and definitely has that holiday lip feel. The gloss is perfect for someone who wants that red glossy lip, but nothing too overpowering.

Rating: B+

Holiday Flash Long Wear Liquid Liner in Chrome ($22) -- I was surprised at how much I adored this product. The color is called chrome and is described as a "metallic silver." It reminded of the gorgeous runaways backstage at fashion week. I actually have to purchase the gold color a.s.a.p. before it sells out. The liner goes on really easily and the tip allows you to get really close to the lash-line. It's very easy to make a very thin or thick line.

Rating: A+
