Reem Acra SS14 | New York Fashion Week

Thanks to Beauty in New York City, I was able to attend two shows I wanted to see this season. One of them being Reem Acra. I have been a fan of her collections and it was great being in the rows for her S/S 14 collection. I knew I was in for something special when classic 80’s music started playing. While mouthing the words and bopping in my seat, I watched glamorous sophistication walk down the runway. The inspiration for her collection was international nightlife, which can also be an option for daytime too. There was bright pops of orange, red, and gold. I loved the throwback to bias cut gowns, a silhouette that is sometimes neglected. And when it came to the finale pieces, I am sucker for anything tulle, so her dramatic tulle skirts and gowns had me gasping. Her collection was modern, tailored, dramatic, and everything a working city girl needs to go from her 9-5 to being a socialite. Not to mention, the big hair was the perfect accessory…it went with everything!
