Fall Fitness: What's In My Gym Bag

I've had the pleasure of trying an array of incredible products for the gym this summer. Luckily all these products can easily transition into Fall. The gym isn't normally a place most people would equate with fun, but I am firm believer that the right gym bag contents can make workout time more pleasurable.

So what's in my gym bag? First, let's start with hydration. Did you know it's recommended to start drinking water 6 hours before your workout? This is where my trusty Contigo water bottle comes in handy. It's a great size with a straw that's easy to sip from - unlike my previous camelback that required a bite to drink. It also has a retractable spout with a cover that makes storing a breeze. I love that I can just toss it in my bag and not worry about linkage or exposing the top.
Next, let's talk sneakers. Finding the best workout sneaker tailored to your needs is always a challenge. You usually have to test a few before finding the perfect pair. After a few trial and errors I found the sneakers of my dreams - the SKECHERS GoRun2. It's a very low impact sneaker with just the right amount of weight and cushion. The breathable top helps keep feet dry and fresh, and running on the treadmill has never felt better. I highly recommend these for anybody who spends most of their workouts running.

For gadgets, I look to BodyMedia, the leader in wearable fitness technology. They just launched a new armband, the CORE 2 that has been my go-to workout buddy ever since. The device tracks daily calorie burn, step taken, sleep and activity. You can set goals, compete with friends on social media and receive personalized feedback about progress. My favorite part is that you can customize the armband with different face plates, bangles or straps.

After my ass kicking X-Fit class, I'm in desperate need of a shower (hello sweat monster), so I always make sure to have my favorite Ahava Hibiscus & Fig Velvet Cream Wash and L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam. Both products leave my skin silky smooth and have just the right amount of fragrance. I don't usually wash my hair at the gym, but if I do, I opt for Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. Armed with my Tangle Teezer, I'm ready to go. Thick, coarse hair like mine needs special attention, and the tangle teezer helps remove any knots from my hair.

Some of my other gym bag essentials include Dove Go Fresh Antiperspirant, Love Chloe Rollerball, Infinity Sun AVANCE Balme SPF 15 - Vanilla Bean and Burt Bee's Intense Hydration Day Lotion.
Last but not least, it's extremely important to have a healthy snack after the gym. I'm always ready to munch, so I keep Kind Bars in my bag for a quick nourishing treat. The bars come in various flavors. My favorite? Nut Delight. The hardy mix of nuts is the perfect snack to give you a boost.
