First US GlossyBox -- Review + Swatches

GLOSSYBOX recently launched in the US and there is buzz all over the internet. Sample beauty boxes have become a big craze in the US. I myself have never been into them until GLOSSYBOX announced their launch. The first time I heard about GLOSSYBOX was through a beauty blogger friend of mine from the U.K. Her blog is The Sunday Girl and she reviews the service every month and is often impressed by the products. I can easily see why. The box is luxurious, beautiful and exciting. Each month you are sent a gorgeous and sturdy pale pink boxed containing 5 deluxe size samples.

The box contained 5 full size products and 1 sample size. I received:
  • Basq - Cucumber Tea Eye Gel (0.5 oz/$24.00)
  • C.O. Bigelow - Lavender & Peppermint Shampoo (5.2 oz/$12.00)
  • Cargo - EyeBronzer ($22.00)
  • Kryolan - High Gloss Brilliant Lip Shine in Toffee ($18.00)
  • O.P.I. - Kiss Me On My Tulips ($8.50)
  • Erno Laszlo - Hollywood Collection Sample Pack ($125 for full size)
Kryolan's high gloss brilliant lip shine in toffee is a gorgeous nude shade. As a lover of all nude lips I was pretty ecstatic about this color. This gloss has special pearl pigments to give a radiant finish. The texture is thick, but it keeps the gloss long-wearing and it's not sticky. I've been using it everyday since I tried it. The shade also will work with multiple complexions from very light to dark.

C.O. Bigelow's lavender & peppermint shampoo has a delicious scent. The shampoo was originally made just for the hotel industry, but its popularity made the brand reconsider and sell online. I definitely would use again.

Cargo's EyeBronzer is a shimmering bronze eyeshadow. You can use it alone or on top of your usual shadow. Recommended use is to apply along the lash line beginning at the inner corner. Blend and then smudge with fingertips to soften. You can also use in the inner corner of your eyes. I would describe the color as a golden bronze. The perfect summer shade!

Basq's cucumber tea eye gel is a soothing eye gel that is meant to help with puffiness, swelling and inflammation. The gel is filled with a blend of antioxidants and hydrators. I will definitely be using this in the summer as it has a great cooling sensation when applied under the eye. I recommend applying in the evening before bed and in the morning before you put on any makeup. Beauty tip: Place in the fridge for an extra cool feeling.

Erno Laszlo's Hollywood Collection sample pack contained 5 sample size skincare products. It's just a way to try the products before you buy. The interesting thing about Erno Laszlo is the history behind it. The Hollywood Collection commemorates 85 years of Erno Laszlo and is inspired by iconic sirens of the screen: Ava, Katharine, Marilyn, Grace and Greta. I fell in love with the morning beauty rescue. The texture is gorgeous and is very light on the skin. It instantly brightened my face. If I didn't already have a skincare routine in place, I would definitely pick up this set to try out despite its $125 price point.

O.P.I. Kiss Me On My Tulips is a hot pink shade from OPI's Holland Collection. It's that perfect vibrant nail color that catches your eye. OPI has some of the best formulas of any nail brand I've ever tried. This color is definitely worth purchasing.

This box was amazing overall and I do believe the monthly subscription is worth $21 a month. The products won't be full size but rather deluxe size samples. I'd say give it a try. You could always cancel if you get a box you don't like. No contract required :)
