MAC Semi-Precious Collection Review & Swatches

I was very excited for the launch of this MAC collection. I went to MAC with the intent to purchase almost all of the products, but when I actually saw the products in person, I realized I had other products that were very similar dupes.

I ended up purchasing four products: Pure Magnificence Cremesheen Glass, Lustre Lipstick in Lush Amber, Mineralize Skinfinish in Goldstone and Mineralize Skinfinish in Rose Quartz.

Pure Magnificence Cremesheen Glass: I really wanted to love this gloss. It's described as a "grey pink". Cremesheen glasses are my favorite of the all types of MAC lip gloss. I found that it's almost like a clear/slightly tinted lip gloss. It's perfect for the person who doesn't want a lot of color, but still wants a soft tint.

Retail: $18.50 at MAC

Lustre Lipstick in Lush Amber: This was another flop for me. It was just too sheer for my liking. It gives the lips a soft shimmer. I will probably use this only in the Summer for when I go to the Beach.

Retail: $14.50 at MAC

Mineralize Skinfinish in Goldstone: This skin-finish is GORGEOUS. I've been wearing in non-stop since I purchased it. It gives the perfect summer glow and highlight all in one. I definitely recommend purchasing this ASAP!!

Retail: $28.00 at MAC

Mineralize Skinfinish in Rose Quartz: Another favorite of mine from this collection!! I've actually been using this as blush along with Goldstone and it looks amazing. It gives that perfect pink flush.

 Retail: $28.00 at MAC

I opted to skip the new brushes that launched with this collection. When I felt them in the store, they felt almost cheap and unnecessary. I decided to stick with the brushes I had.

Have you purchased anything from the Semi-Precious collection?

  1. I picked up Musky Amethyst lipstick, which I felt was really the only unique shade. It is really like a stain, and a pretty plum/berry color. I also got an MSF in Pearl, which I love. Like you mentioned, I think there were some hits and misses in this collection

  2. Yeah, I was more disappointed than I thought I would be.
