Laura Mercier Limited Edition Luxe Colour Portfolio Review + Swatches

Laura Mercier is quickly becoming one of my go to cosmetic brands. They've got products that keep you coming back for seconds and each new collection gets better and better. I'm a huge fan of their tinted moisturizers, shimmer blocs, and concealers. Strangely enough --I had never tried their eye-shadows. Shame on me for not trying sooner and you'll see why shortly. I'm loving their limited edition luxe colour portfolio ($98) that launched Holiday 2011. It's got all the essentials -- eyeshadow, blush, eye liner & brushes. What more does a girl need?! Wait till you see the swatches...

The Luxe Colour Portfolio is an awesome value. Here's what you get --
6 eye colors including primrose, african violet, merlot, truffle, topaz and stellar
3 tight-line cake eye liners including ground espresso, black ebony, and burgundy wine
2 second skin cheek colors including rose petal and city pink
3 mini brushes including ponytail, crease and flat eye liner

The eyeshadows are pretty awesome. I'm crazy in love with african violet and merlot. Merlot is the perfect burgundy that I've been on the hunt for. I've got a burgundy smokey eye in mind & african violet is just a gorgeous shimmery purple that makes me smile!

Laura Mercier is known for their cake liners that are long lasting and never fade throughout the day. Their called tightline cake eye liners because they work amazing when you tightline with them. The phrase "tightlining" refers to lining your lashes (or in between). It's pretty simple. Get the eyeliner as close to your lashes and fill in any gaps you see. You can also work under the lashes, which is how I prefer to use it. The only thing this kit doesn't include is the tightline activator ($20) that I highly recommend to use with the liners.

The blushes were very pigmented and very pretty. I see myself using both a ton during Spring!

Now the brushes were the biggest WIN of the palette for me. I was expecting kind of okay brushes to be included. I had no idea they would be so amazing. I've been using them non-stop since I got them. Since their smaller then most, they're also easy to carry around. The crease brush is fluffy and blends nicely.

All and all, a great deal and worth the cash.

Have you ever used Laura Mercier products?
